categories

Hi, please note that category names on mnwiki should be in the plural form (discussion somewhere in the khural archives) wherever it makes sense. I do think that it would make sense in the case of Category:Унд (en:Category:Beverages), so you might want to fix that before more items are added. --Latebird (яриа) 09:51, 6 Зургаадугаар сар 2008 (UTC)

Images on Commons

Hi, I see you uploaded a few images of Mongolian politicians to the Commons, which is very good! Unfortunately, some of the files are of extremely small resolution (200 pixels or less). As the original photographer, I'm sure you have them available in bigger sizes as well? With larger files, I might try to improve the contrast and brightness a bit where necessary. Unfortunately, with the small ones, there isn't enough information available to get reasonable results with that. So if you can, please re-upload in the largest resolution you have at your disposal (using the "Upload a new version of this file" link on the image description page). Albums

Hi, I saw you removed a deletion request with the edit note "Albums should stay as long as other albums also exist in English Wikipedia". Are you aware of en:WP:OSE? The general idea is that each article should only stay on its own merits, or be deleted lacking such. Album articles in enwiki are only kept on two conditions: The album must be notable by itself (eg. by reviews in international press), and the article must include encyclopedic information. An article about an album by an obscure new band that only says "it exists" with a track listing will inevitably be deleted under those rules. As long as these new albums are popular in Mongolia, then the articles should stay in the Mongolian Wiki. Mongolian artists are not known to the international press, but they are popular in Mongolia, so they are worthy of encyclopedic articles. The keyword there is "encyclopedic articles", which the current ones clearly aren't. As long as this is the case, it would make much more sense to include those track lists in the article of the band. I have actually been trying to create articles in enwiki about as many Mongolian bands as possible. But even for the famous ones it's really hard to find reliable sources. And without those, it's not worth to even try, because they will be deleted within days. Translation request for Шалом.

Could you translate the article Шалом. There is already an article about Şalom, a Jewish weekly newspaper in Turkey, not in Mongolian but in English, but could you check it and translate it from the other Wikipedia language sites, if you have the time and patience to do so. The reason is that the newspaper Şalom is written (alas one page only) in a highly endangered language called Ladino or Judeo-Spanish, the Spanish of the 15th century. Perhaps this might gain your interest and sympathy.

Просьба о помощи в нахождении текста

Обращаюсь к Вам как к человеку, знающему русский и монгольский. вот тут в сети выложен клип с песней на монгольском языке. Одна моя хорошая знакомая, автор и исполнитель песен, очень хочет найти текст и (по возможности) перевод этой песни, а также информацию о авторах песни. Hello! As part of the update of Wikipedias logos to the new (2010) 3D puzzle globe version, we have noticed that your wiki's current logo is missing, outdated or with wrong translation.
