Hi, I am creating a small template for writing Mongolian at en:wp, [[:en:Template:MoB]]. I think it works now, but the code is quite complicated, and I think it could be much simpler.
The basic idea was to just create a table with one column and border=0, cellspacing=0, cellpadding=0. The one column of this table would contain images of Mongol bichig letters (one per column) so that they look like one word. Unfortunately, this did not seem to work in Internet explorer, as Wikipedia apparently allows only a certain minimum height for images for users of Internet Explorer (about as high as one row). If images get smaller (lower), whitespace is added, and this makes what should be written as one word break apart.
I worked around this with the help of div style = "position:" stuff, but I think this makes the template unnecessary complicated and unflexible to use for longer words. Do you happen to have an idea how to allow abitrarily small images for IE users on WP?
If you do, can you make an exception and answer on my talk page on english wp? I am not that active on Mongolian wp.
